Valentine's Day is a great time teach your kids about love!  Through making Valentines Day treats for friends and family, kids learn generosity but also have fun with a family member. Doing these crafts with your kids is a great bonding experience - and a good opportunity to talk to them about the greatest love of all, the love of Jesus!

Shaving Cream Heart Art

What kid doesn’t like getting a little messy? Let them get their hands dirty and create beautiful art with these shaving cream marbled hearts! All you will need for this project is some common household ingredients like foam shaving cream, and some paper hearts cut from watercolor paper. You can use these colorful pieces as cards, garland, or a fun addition to your fridge!

DIY Heart-Shaped Crayons

Do you have a little artist at home? Let them express themselves with these homemade Valentine’s Day crayons! These make great gifts for friends or classmates and encourage creativity.  Let your kids pick some broken crayons out of their art stash and fill a heart-molded pan with the colors they desire. Bake at 250 degrees for about 10-20 minutes and once they cool, you will have some multicolored crayons for your kids to enjoy!

Valen-slimes

Slime-making kits have been taking over toy stores, and kids are having a blast making homemade goo with their friends. Not only is slime sensory fun, but it is also an opportunity for your kids to learn about science! Help your kids whip up this fluffy pink slime with common household ingredients and package it in jars to give out to friends from school or church. Check out the directions here

Handprint Flowers

Get your toddler or baby involved in Valentines Day memories with this more parent-led activity - handprint flowers. This sweet craft will be a keepsake for years to come, and make great gifts for family members! Use paint to get some handprints of your little one and press them to some paper, draw on some flower stems! For more directions, look here
